About Us

S.M. Baliga & Co – 54 years of legacy, established in 1972, began as distributors for Gunnebo India Ltd. (formerly known as Steelage Industries Ltd.), renowned manufacturers of highly acclaimed physical security products globally- Chubb Safes and STEELAGE. The company quickly rose to prominence, becoming the No.1 dealer for Gunnebo India Ltd. in India.

In 1985, S.M. Baliga & Co expanded its portfolio by being appointed as Dealers for Honda Power Products, specializing in the sale of portable generators. This marked the beginning of their venture into the power products market.

By 2001, the company had further diversified, becoming dealers for Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Pvt Ltd. in Bangalore under the name “Silicon Motors.” Operating from five sales points at R.V Road, Jayanagar, Banashankari 3rd Stage and 2nd Stage, and Rajarajeshwarinagar, along with ten service points in South Bangalore, they established a strong presence in the two-wheeler market.

The company’s success continued in 2004 when they were appointed dealers for Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Pvt Ltd. in Mandya District under the name “Sugar Motors,” with branches in Malavalli and Nagamangala in Karnataka. Their exceptional sales performance earned them the highest sales record for three consecutive years and the prestigious gold award at the Asia Oceania Sales Award function in Tokyo.

In 2018, S.M. Baliga & Co was appointed as a Canon Premium Partner for Canon India Pvt.Ltd., marketing multifunctional printers and scanners. They established the first Business Imaging Solutions Lounge for Canon in South India, setting a new benchmark in the imaging solutions market. The following year, in 2019, they were appointed as distributors of TATA Autocomp GY Batteries Private Ltd., expanding their reach into the battery distribution sector. This was followed by their appointment as dealers for Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd. in 2021, handling EV 3 wheelers and IC engine vehicles.

In 2020, they opened a Honda BigWing Topline on Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore, catering to high-end bike enthusiasts.

Sai Motors, a subsidiary established in 2007, began as a service provider for General Motors. In 2024, it evolved into an Acko Drive Centre at Thanisandra, providing service for 4 wheelers.
